From Ryan Ashley, Lead Pastor:
Restoration,
I am writing to communicate my desire to invite you into a new and exciting process!
Many of you know that our church community has felt homeless over the past eighteen months. What many
do not know is that our meeting-space headaches started well before Covid. There has been a great deal of
effort put into seeking out places to gather due to changes at the Arvada Center, school closures, and
increased commercial real estate prices. There is no doubt that this chapter has stretched us, and I am grateful
for your flexibility and grace. We have learned so much and genuinely enjoyed this unique season of trusting
in the Lord. While many have had a meaningful experience in house churches (and some of you joined us in
this season), we still desire to find a way to establish a rhythm for gathering as a larger body to worship
together, pray together, apprentice Jesus as a community, and to have a meaningful impact and presence in
Arvada.
As we’ve been praying and faithfully asking what the Lord might have in store for us in this “in between time”,
we have been approached by a local church with the opportunity to purchase their church building. Many of
you who heard the sermon on June 13th were invited to pray during this season with us -- thank you for that.
What does this mean? Well... I would like to highlight a few things for you below and discuss next steps:
This new space would be available to us 24/7. (Not for four hours per week like we experienced renting
space at the Arvada Center.)
The location is very much in the hub of where we feel missionally called (close proximity to Arvada
Center).
It fits within our criteria and budget (we have done a deep dive into our budget during this last year --
continuing to ask if our budget fits within our mission of Be, Become, and Do). All that to say, it is the
ballpark range of what we paid to rent space at the Arvada Center.
I’d like to ask all those that call Restoration Covenant Church their church community to be involved in this
process. It is without question a huge moment in the life of our almost 10-year-old church. Specifically, I am
asking EVERYONE (including kids) to come THIS Sunday from 4:00-5:00pm to 7135 West 68th Ave., Arvada to
walk the space, discuss next steps, and break bread together... by that I mean pizza!
I do apologize for the short notice. It could not be avoided due to scheduling issues with the church and this
being a time-sensitive process. We will be meeting and touring just before dinnertime, we are hoping that by
providing pizza and drinks it will help unload the burden of meal planning.
Church, we are excited about this meeting and really hopeful to see a large majority of our community in
attendance for this. There are, no doubt, many questions that you have, and they are ALL welcome! Our
leadership team and I will do our best to communicate the “why”, the “how”, and the “when” this
Sunday. Please consider changing weekend plans to join us for this conversation.
Restoration, thank you for your prayers. I would be honored to see you Sunday and discuss further details!
